Keep it Moving

“The past can teach us, nurture us, but it cannot sustain us. The essence of life is change, and we must move ever forward or the soul will wither and die.”

― Susanna Kearsley

You must learn to let go of the past so that you may embrace the present. It is important to learn and grow from the past, but don’t confuse this with allowing yourself to become stuck and stagnant. Use the past as a stepping stone onward to greater things. The key is to never stop moving forward.

Doing Your Best

“Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment”

― Oprah Winfrey

You must remember to focus on the present moment and not linger on the past or on a future that has yet to happen. So, each day strive to be a better version of yourself. And by working to do the best you can at every moment, you position yourself for obtaining the life and future you desire.

Believe in Yourself

“You may be the only person left who believes in you, but it’s enough. It takes just one star to pierce a universe of darkness. Never give up.”

― Richelle E. Goodrich

As you begin a new week, allow yourself to believe in new possibilities. Have faith in yourself and all that you do. For where there is a will, there is a way. And you alone possess the tools to build the life you crave.

Be An Overcomer

“I want to encourage you by letting you know that there’s hope for you and your situation whatever you are dealing with. God is intimately involved with every detail of your future and His desire is for you to be an overcomer.”

― Sue Augustine

Let go and let God. Trust that He is in control of weaving the tapestry of your life. And He sends no storm your way that you can’t conquer and emerge on the other side…perhaps battered but never defeated. So, when the night becomes long and cold, bundle up and hunker down until the Sun comes out again.

Courage

“Courage is not the absence of fear or despair; it is the capacity to continue on despite them, no matter how great or overwhelming they become.”

― Robert Fanney

Life is a beautiful tragedy. At times, it is full of pain, sorrow and utter devastation. However, in spite of your suffering and tears, you must find the inner strength to never give up and carry on.

Take Action

Do nothing, and nothing happens. Life is about decisions. You either make them or they’re made for you, but you can’t avoid them.”

― Mhairi McFarlane, You Had Me At Hello

Change doesn’t happen by sitting on the sidelines. No, progress happens when you engage in life, take action and make choices. So, if you want more out of life, then you have to actively go after it and fight like hell for it.

My Destination

“My destination is no longer a place, rather a new way of seeing.”

― Marcel Proust

Life is all about perspective. It isn’t about attaining goal X or making Y amount of money. Life is about learning what it means to be awake and to see the blessings surrounding you. It is about striving to be a better version of yourself each and every day.

Hope is Precious

“It’s probably my job to tell you life isn’t fair, but I figure you already know that. So instead, I’ll tell you that hope is precious, and you’re right not to give up.”

― C.J. Redwine, Defiance

Life isn’t fair and sometimes it really sucks. These are things we all have to accept. But, the key is to never give up no matter how bad things are…for it is at these moments that the tide will change. So, hold on for a little longer and hold on to hope that no matter how long the night, the dawn will break.

Make the Most of Life

“I believe that I am not responsible for the meaningfulness or meaninglessness of life, but that I am responsible for what I do with the life I’ve got.”

― Hermann Hesse

You and you alone decide the meaning of life. You can choose to squander and waste what time you have been given. Or, you can choose to take every opportunity- good and bad – and make the most of every breath you take. The choice is yours…

Balance

“You see, we cannot draw lines and compartments and refuse to budge beyond them. Sometimes you have to use your failures as stepping-stones to success. You have to maintain a fine balance between hope and despair.’ He paused, considering what he had just said. ‘Yes’, he repeated. ‘In the end, it’s all a question of balance.”

― Rohinton Mistry, A Fine Balance

Life is a balancing act between highs and lows and good and bad. You can’t have one without the other. And all of it has meaning and serves a purpose. What you may perceive as a setback or failure is really an opportunity to grow and open yourself up for the good that life has to offer.
